How does PDCPD compare to traditional FRP for boat hulls? +

PDCPD eliminates the gelcoat blistering problem entirely β€” there is no gelcoat layer to fail. Water absorption is <0.1% vs 0.5–1% for FRP. Tooling cost is 60–80% lower than FRP molds. The downside: PDCPD is best for smaller production runs (50–5,000 pcs), while FRP remains economical for very high volumes.

Can you do foam-cored sandwich structures? +

Yes. We routinely mold PDCPD skins over PVC or PET foam cores for hull sections and deck panels. The RIM process bonds perfectly to foam without delamination. Typical skin thickness 2–3mm over 10–20mm foam core, achieving excellent stiffness-to-weight ratios.

How UV-stable is PDCPD for marine use? +

We offer UV-stabilized PDCPD grades that pass 2000h QUV testing with color shift Ξ”E <2. For extreme sun exposure (tropical waters), we recommend a marine-grade PU topcoat for maximum longevity. Unlike FRP, PDCPD doesn't chalk or fade significantly.

What's the lead time for a custom console shell? +

Approximately 25–30 days including aluminum mold fabrication and first-article approval. Console shells are typically 3–6mm wall thickness, foam-cored, with integrated dashboard mounts and waterproof cable entries.

Do your marine parts meet ISO/CE certification? +

Our manufacturing process is ISO 9001:2015 certified. PDCPD marine parts can be tested to ISO 12215 (hull construction) and CE Category B/C/D requirements. We provide material test reports and dimensional inspection data with every batch.

How do you repair PDCPD marine parts? +

PDCPD is remarkably repair-friendly. Minor damage can be fixed with standard epoxy fillers or PDCPD repair resin. For structural repairs, we provide repair kits with matching resin and hardener. Unlike carbon fiber, no special vacuum bagging or heat cure is needed.

Do you sign NDA and protect our boat designs? +

Yes. We routinely sign mutual NDAs before receiving hull form files. Your yacht designs remain your property β€” we never reuse or resell custom mold designs. Mold ownership transfers to you upon project completion.
